The central piers of the Sächsische Dampfschiffahrt can be found directly on the Brühlsche Terrasse in Dresden's old town. From there you have the opportunity to take a romantic steamboat trip through Saxon Switzerland or down the Elbe along the Saxon Wine Route to Diesbar-Seußlitz.

Burgk Castle in Freital as a city museum, venue and excursion destination is definitely worth a visit. In addition to the Freital Municipal Collections, there is an idyllic café and the extraordinary adventure playground "Burgkania" on the restored castle grounds.

A special experience in our region is a ride on the oldest narrow-gauge railway in Germany, the Weißeritztalbahn. With the reopening of the entire route, the journey from Freital Hainsberg to the spa town of Kipsdorf will be an unforgettable experience!

A special recommendation for wine lovers is a hike on the Saxon Wine Trail, which leads from Pirna to Dießbar-Seußlitz.

If you are a guest in the south of Dresden, you naturally do not miss to visit or hike in Saxon Switzerland. A unique rocky landscape has inspired generations of artists for famous paintings and pieces of music. Saxon Switzerland can be explored particularly impressively on the individual stages of the Malerweg. Maps are available from our hotel. 

Nestled in the Moritzburg pond landscape, the hunting and pleasure lap of August the Strong is the visitor magnet in Moritzburg. Changing exhibitions, the parks, the pheasant castle at the Großteich and the small harbour with lighthouse are the attractions for a day trip. In the immediate vicinity, the Moritzburg Wildlife Park awaits its visitors. 

The Albrechtsburg Meissen is the oldest castle in Germany. Since 1471, the castle has towered over the now historic city centre of the porcelain city of Meissen.

Numerous exhibitions, guided tours and gastronomic facilities make a day trip unforgettable. If you are traveling by car, you should plan the return trip past the porcelain manufactory Meissen through the beautiful Triebischtal valley lined with historic, partly still operating mills.
